Wako offers a beautifully creamy and full-bodied cup with a refined balance between sweetness, umami, and a gentle nuttiness. It’s smooth, aromatic, and deeply satisfying — a matcha that feels both rich and comforting.
- Aroma: The dry scent is floral and subtly nutty with a soft creaminess, while the wet aroma opens up beautifully — rich notes of roasted chestnut and sweet green tea rise warmly from the bowl.
- Tasting Notes: Medium to full-bodied and incredibly smooth. The umami is well-pronounced, carrying a round creaminess that lingers with a pleasant sweetness. There’s almost no bitterness or astringency, only a light savoury hint that adds depth. When sipped as usucha, a faint saltiness appears in the aftertaste, creating a clean and layered finish.
- How to Enjoy: Wako shines in both straight and latte preparations. As usucha, it’s rich yet gentle, showcasing its pure umami and nutty undertones. In a latte, the creamy texture becomes even more velvety, with the tea’s natural sweetness and aroma blending harmoniously with milk.
- Perfect For: Those who love a creamy, balanced matcha that feels luxurious yet easy to drink. Wako is ideal for anyone seeking a smooth, flavourful matcha latte with elegant floral and nutty layers.

Does Matcha Expire?
Does Matcha Expire?
Matcha does not “expire”. The date on the can is the manufacturer’s best before date, which is the manufacturer's suggested date of when the matcha will taste at its peak umami.
How fresh is our matcha?
- All our matcha is freshly picked from most time.
- Their shelf life follows the manufacturer's guide, which varies from 3 to 12 months (mostly: 6–10 months).
- If a product’s BBF date is very close or part of a promotion, we clearly label it as a separate variant so you can choose knowingly.
How should I store my matcha?
- Before BBF date: Store in a cool (<25°C) and dry place, or in the fridge.
- Closer to BBF date (around 2 weeks before): Move to the freezer to maintain umami and greenness flavour.
- After BBF date: You can keep it in the freezer and enjoy for a few extra months.
- Tip: Once you take it out of the freezer for use, return it immediately to avoid moisture affecting the umami.
